Yes, I Have a Room of Crap… Part 2

As promised, pictures of the Room of Crap.

*cue horror music*

Note: this is after both an extensive declutter and after moving baby gear and several boxes of baby clothes to the attic.

What all is even in here?! Left to right: stack of random books there’s no room for, my husband’s model car collection, two bags of scarves for my Etsy shop, box of cd’s/dvd’s, box of things to sell on Ebay, table is cluttered with office supplies and random things, sewing machine box is full of extra fabric, large bag and box behind it waiting to be dropped off at the consignment store, guitar I really wanted to learn to play but still can’t, a pile of tote bags, empty boxes for shipping, more random crap on my elliptical machine, old clothes/towels to be cut up for garage rags, bin of extra toys, some more random crap.

But wait, there’s more.

More random crap and art prints on the floor, a dresser that is absolutely crammed full, spare TV, husband’s telescope, bag of children’s Halloween totes I sewed.

In that little back corner area you can see that we’ve utilized the space to store more crap. Storage shelves include gift bags, boxes, and tissue paper (I reuse ones that are in good condition so I always have some on hand for last minute gifts and don’t have to waste time and resources buying new ones), holiday decor, a photo box, and a buttload of books.

Next to that is two boxes of clothes my older daughter is outgrowing, followed by a bookshelf that is crammed full of books.

But wait, there’s more!

Here is the closet, absolutely jammed full of extra clothes (some of which is currently listed on Ebay, extra blankets, extra fabric, and at the very bottom, my extensive yarn collection (which I’ve already done a major purge of). There’s even my wedding dress!

Phew. What in the world am I going to do with all of this?

Stay tuned and follow my progress as I declutter this area and turn it into a usable space for my family!

  1. I can so relate with the clutter room. When I used to sell lularoe, I had a dedicated lularoom. Once I stopped selling, it unfortunately became like a second garage and it’s right at the entrance to our house. 😫 I always spend some time decluttering, donating things, etc but it’s still packed. It’s full of toys I’ve taken away from the kids for bad behavior, craft materials, video games, a shelf unit that we use as a second pantry, painting supplies that should be in the garage but I keep saying I’m going to paint the kid’s rooms. 😆 Hopefully I can declutter it right along with you!

    1. Keep me updated on your decluttering progress! I’ll be posting a LOT more about my own decluttering, since the entire house needs it. Hopefully it will be good motivation!
